The NHL Draft is a joyous occasion for over 200 families as they watch their son get selected by a professional hockey franchise in the best league in the world.

But for Ryan Greene's family, the excitement that comes with draft weekend turned into a nightmare when their family vehicle was stolen at their hotel in Laval (Quebec). Ryan's mother Lisa said in a tweet on Sunday that her son was set to depart for development camp in Chicago and will now do so without his equipment.

"Drove to Montreal in our Honda CR-V @Honda to watch our son get drafted to the NHL. Stayed at @sheratonhotels Laval for two days. Vehicle stolen during the day. He is off to Development camp with no hockey gear and sticks. Thieves able to steal key fob signal. Happens daily. FYI" Lisa Greene said.

Back in March, CBC released an article about car thefts in Quebec and according to Équité Association, an organization that helps insurers counter theft and fraud, Honda CR-V's are the most stolen vehicle in the province.

This is extremely frustrating to see, especially since Ryan and his family were trying to focus and celebrate his incredible achievement. Hopefully Ryan was able to get new equipment to use at this week's development camp.
