The LA Kings made a big move Tuesday, picking up coveted restricted free agent forward Kevin Fiala and immediately signing him to a contract extension. A victim of the salary cap crunch in Minnesota, the Wild got what they could for Fiala before letting him go. In the meantime, there's speculation that the Kings aren't done making deals yet.

"...I don't think the Kings are done," said Jon Rosen of the NHL Network and The Hockey News. "I'm looking at Filip Forsberg. Like Fiala, and [Viktor] Arvidsson, he plays that fast, direct, hard game the Preds can play. Kings coaches, execs have acknowledged Nashville as an influence on what they want to do offensively."

"If they were to make another large move, the higher-profile assets I'd expect them to be more amenable to exchanging - similar to [Brock] Faber - are [Alex] Turcotte, [Akil] Thomas, [Gabriel] Vilardi, JAD (Jaret Anderson-Dolan), [Alex] Iafallo, a right-shot D," Rosen continued.

For LA, getting their hands on Forsberg would be a massive move, especially after just picking up Fiala. Kings GM Rob Blake has made it clear that the team's brief rebuild is over, and he's looking to add through trades and signings rather than draft picks. But one thing is certain, whether Blake plans to pick up Forsberg on the free agent market or make a move and trade for his negotiating rights before that, it won't come cheap. The 27-year-old is coming off a career year in regular season stats (42G, 42A, 84P, 64 GP) and is set to get a big raise from the $6 million per season he's been making for the past six years. Nashville really wants to keep him, but that may not be possible if they can't find the money he wants. LA has close to $12 million in cap space right now, with more money coming off the books in July. It would be something if Blake could pull it off.
