According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Los Angeles Kings have acquired Kevin Fiala's RFA rights from the Minnesota Wild. Michael Russo of The Athletic added that the Wild are acquiring a 2022 first round pick and prospect Brock Faber in the deal.
Fiala, 25, just completed his fourth year with the Minnesota Wild and had a breakout season. In 82 games, he recorded 85 points (33 goals, 52 assists), 52 penalty minutes and was a plus-23. Fiala added three assists in six playoff games.
As for Brock Faber, he just completed his second year at the University of Minnesota where he was captain. The 19-year-old defenceman tallied fourteen points (two goals, twelve assists) in 32 games. He also represented the United States at the 2022 Winter Olympics in China.
