Per a report from Francois Gagnon of RDS, Pierre-Luc Dubois is receiving a fair bit of interest heading into the Draft July 7. After expressing to the Winnipeg Jets his interest to explore free agency once his contract is up this summer, Dubois could possibly be traded before this season. The question is: who will offer up the goods?

Per Gagnon's report, the New York Rangers' GM Chris Drury has great interest in acquiring the Jets' center:

Translated, Gagnon's tweet says, "By the way, according to information obtained during the final, the #Rangers of New York would be more than interested in acquiring Pierre-Luc Dubois. Ongoing negotiations with the #Jets on the parameters of a transaction. It's not done, but Chris Drury is very interested."

The Rangers, fresh off of an Eastern Conference Final, are officially back in win-now mode, and they are in need of a second-line center. They also possess a bunch of promising young players to offer in return, so the fit makes sense on all sides. But what would Drury pay for Dubois? Kaapo Kakko? Filip Chytil? Vitaly Kravtsov? No one can say for sure, but this could be a big one to watch.

The Rangers do only have $11 million to spend this summer & no first-round draft pick, which may complicate things. Additionally, GM Chris Drury has a lot of tidying up to do regarding free agents & general cap management:

With all those free agents pending & only $11 million to spend, the Rangers Front Office needs to creatively fill their roster in order to ice a contender next season. Some of the biggest question marks facing the Rangers are G Alexandar Georgiev & pending UFAs Ryan Strome & Andrew Copp. Also, rumors surfaced last week of a schism between GM Chris Drury & star F Artemi Panarin, but those have not been substantiated. An exciting offseason awaits, and how the Rangers proceed from here is of great interest to their fans.
