Zach Hyman knew before last season ended that he wanted to be an Edmonton Oiler, and he didn't even want to talk to other teams. After visiting the city, he knew that he had to get a contract with Connor McDavid and Co.

Hyman inked a seven-year deal, and the rest is history. In his first season with the team, he had a career year, posting 54 points (27 goals, 27 assists) in a top-six role with his new club.

The 30-year-old spoke to the media for the final time this season and had nothing but great things to say about the decision to come to Edmonton.

"I thought I was going to be a good fit when I decided to come here, but it's been everything and more," he said. "Just honestly one of the best decisions I made in my life was to come here and play with these guys. Everybody's been so welcoming in the city. We talked about the fans a little bit not just making me feel comfortable, but my family feel comfortable. I'm just really happy to be here for a long time."

Although the Oilers season did not end the way that they wanted to, the team still has a solid core intact including Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Ryan-Nugent Hopkins, Darnell Nurse, and Hyman.
