With under 5 minutes remaining in the second period of Game 7 between the New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes, netminder Antti Raanta departed the game with an injury.

Raanta lunged left to right and experienced significant and immediate discomfort. The officials blew the play dead.

Raanta has a history of lower body injuries throughout his career. It's unclear at this time if he will return to Game 7, but he was not able to put much weight on his right leg as he departed the game.

Rookie netminder, Pyotr Kochetkov replaced Raanta in the Canes net. In his very limited playoff experience, Kochetkov has a 3.30 GAA for a .889 save percentage. He surrendered a goal to Ryan Strome soon after entering the game, putting his team down 3-0 entering the third period.
