NHL releases odds for the 2022 Draft Lottery

Following the conclusion of the regular season on Sunday afternoon, the National Hockey League revealed the odds for the 2022 Draft Lottery, which is set to take place on Tuesday, May 10th.

The Montreal Canadiens, who finished dead-last in the NHL standings with a record of 22-49-11, have the best odds at selecting first overall at 18.5%. If the Canadiens end up with the first overall pick, it will be the first time they've held that selection since 1980, when they took Doug Wickenheiser.

Let's take a look at the odds for the sixteen teams that missed the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

2) Arizona Coyotes - 13.5%
3) Seattle Kraken - 11.5%
4) Philadelphia Flyers - 9.5%
5) New Jersey Devils - 8.5%
6) Chicago Blackhawks - 7.5%*
7) Ottawa Senators - 6.5%
8) Detroit Red Wings - 6%
9) Buffalo Sabres - 5%
10) Anaheim Ducks - 3.5%
11) San Jose Sharks - 3%
12) Columbus Blue Jackets - 2.5%
13) New York Islanders - 2%
14) Winnipeg Jets - 1.5%
15) Vancouver Canucks - 0.5%
16) Vegas Golden Knights - 0.5%**

* - If Chicago's pick is not a top-two selection, it will be transferred to Columbus as per the terms of their trade in July 2021.

** - If Vegas' pick is not a top-ten selection, it will be transferred to Buffalo as per the terms of their trade in November 2021.

The 2022 NHL Draft Lottery will be broadcasted on Sportsnet in Canada and ESPN in the United States beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET on May 10th. As for the Entry Draft, that is set to be held on Thursday, July 7th and Friday, July 8th at the Bell Centre in Montreal (Quebec).
