The Arizona Coyotes announced on Sunday that they've mutually agreed to part ways with Hockey Hall of Famer and Assistant Coach, Phil Housley.

Housley, 58, spent parts of 21 seasons in the National Hockey League during his playing career with Buffalo, Winnipeg, St. Louis, Calgary, New Jersey, Washington, Chicago and Toronto.

The Saint Paul (Minnesota) native joined the Coyotes organization in June of 2019, signing a multi-year contract to become their new assistant coach just over two months after he was fired by the Buffalo Sabres.

"On behalf of the entire organization, I would like to thank Phil for everything he did for the Coyotes on and off the ice the past three seasons," said General Manager Bill Armstrong. "Phil is very well-respected, a true professional and a good coach. We wish him and his family all the best in the future."
