Less than two months after their country was invaded by Russia, Ukraine is planning on participating at a pair of IIHF events later in April.

The Ukrainian men's national team will be participating at the 2022 IIHF World Hockey Championship Division 1B in Poland, and will face the hosts, Japan, Estonia, and Serbia. The tournament will begin on April 26th.

Ukraine's under-18 men's national team will be participating at the 2022 IIHF U18 World Hockey Championship Division 1B in Italy, which is set to begin on April 25. They'll face off against Italy, Austria, Hungary, Poland, and Slovenia.

The Ice Hockey Federation of Ukraine has received support from several IIHF members, the NHL, NHLPA, and CHL. Both the men's national team is in Hungary and under-18 national team is in Czechia in preparation for their respective tournaments.

Once the tournaments end, the men's national team as well as the coaches, trainers, equipment staff, and team doctors of the under-18 team will have to return to Ukraine to fight in the war.

Best of luck to both teams at their tournaments later this month.
