Following Tuesday night's win over the Philadelphia Flyers, Columbus Blue Jackets head coach Brad Larsen announced that goaltender Elvis Merzlikins will carry the team the rest of the way, playing in all eleven games they have left.

It's not going to be an easy finish to the season for Merzlikins, as included in those eleven remaining games are two back-to-backs, including one in California.

Merzlikins has also played Columbus' previous seven games in a row, and when their season ends on April 29th, he'll have played 18 consecutive games in 35 days, which is absolutely insane to think about.

The Riga (Latvia) native has appeared in 49 games so far this season. In those 49 games, the 27-year-old has a 23-18-6 record with a 3.37 GAA, .904 save percentage, and two shutouts.
