According to TSN's Chris Johnston, the Washington Capitals have acquired forward Marcus Johansson from the Seattle Kraken.

Johansson, 31, spent the first seven seasons of his career as a Capital after being selected by them in the first-round (24 overall) of the 2009 draft. He has since gone on to have stints with the New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Minnesota Wild and the Kraken.

On an expiring deal with a cap hit of $1.5 million, Johansson is simply a rental pickup for a Capitals team who has been quite inconsistent this season. Though he isn't the same offensive player he was during his first stint in Washington, he is still a solid secondary scorer with six goals and 23 points in 51 games this season.
