The Winnipeg Jets made a couple of fairly minor deals Sunday night as the NHL trade deadline inches closer. The first involved Nathan Beaulieu. The Jets sent the 29-year-old defenceman to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a conditional seventh round pick.

Meanwhile, Winnipeg reacquired forward Mason Appleton from the Seattle Kraken for a fourth round pick in 2023. Appleton was taken from the Jets during the expansion draft. Appleton has played in 49 games for Seattle this season, scoring six goals and 17 points. The 26-year-old was drafted by Winnipeg in the sixth round in 2015.
