For the second time in four days, the Florida Panthers have added to their defensive group. On Wednesday, they acquired Ben Chiarot from the Montreal Canadiens and now, according to Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff, the Panthers acquired Robert Hagg from the Buffalo Sabres.

TSN's Pierre LeBrun reported that the Buffalo Sabres are receiving a sixth round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft in return.

Hagg, 27, was in his first season with the Buffalo Sabres after spending parts of the previous five seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers. In 48 games this season, the Uppsala (Sweden) native has eight points (one goal, seven assists), 25 penalty minutes, and is a minus-nine.

In a matter of days the Panthers have added Ben Chiarot, Claude Giroux, and now Robert Hagg, but have lost a key part of their d-core, Aaron Ekblad, who may miss the remainder of the regular season with a lower-body injury.
