According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Dallas Stars have placed veteran defenceman Andrej Sekera on waivers.

Sekera, 35, is in his sixteenth NHL season and third with the Dallas Stars. In 24 games this season, the Bojnice (Slovakia) native has two assists, twelve penalty minutes, and is a minus-two.

If he clears waivers on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET, he'll join the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League. The last time Sekera played in the AHL was during the 2018-19 season as a member of the Bakersfield Condors. Sekera will be an unrestricted free agent at season's end.

In other waivers related news, Tyler Benson and Mathieu Perreault have both cleared and will report to their respective American Hockey League clubs.
