The Calgary Flames have made a move prior to the trade deadline of March 21st. The team has acquired forward Calle Jarnkrok from the Seattle Kraken in exchange for a 2nd round pick (Florida's) in 2022, a third in 2023 and a 7th in 2024. Seattle will retain 50 percent of Jarnkrok's salary. According to Elliotte Friedman, there was plenty of bidding going on for Jarnkrok's services.

Prior to this season, Jarnkrok had spent his entire career with the Nashville predators since being drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the second round (51st overall) in 2010. He was traded to Nashville by Detroit before he ever suited up for the team. This season, Jarnkrok has played in 49 games, and has recorded 12 goals and 26 points.

Jarnkrok, 30, will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season. His cap hit in 2021-22 is $2 million.
