In 2019, Kovalchuk and his wife tried to sell the 22,000 square foot property for $18 million, but then lowered it to $16 million in 2020.
The mansion includes eight bedrooms, eleven bathrooms, several powder rooms, a banquet-sized dining room, a chef's kitchen, prep kitchen, walk-in pantry, wine storage, a lounge, theatre, bar, among other features.
Kovalchuk originally bought the property in 2010 for $4.5 million after he was traded to New Jersey from the Atlanta Thrashers.
In February, Kovalchuk purchased an $8.5 million condo on Fisher Island in Florida. Fisher Island is reportedly one of the wealthiest in ZIP codes in the United States.
