Despite being a former first-round draft pick, forward Brendan Perlini has had a tough time finding his place in the NHL. Taken 12th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in 2014, Perlini is now with his fourth NHL team in the Edmonton Oilers. On Monday, he was placed on waivers, but apparently didn't know about it until his mother told him after seeing it on Twitter.

It's interesting that no one with the team bothered to tell him about it before a public announcement was made. Should he clear waivers, Perlini will be sent back to the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL. He has four goals and five points with Edmonton in 23 games this season.
