Anaheim Ducks and Dave Nonis part ways

Dave Nonis, a very recognizable name in the world of hockey executives, has parted ways with the Anaheim Ducks organization. According to The Athletic, Nonis' contract was set to be up at the end of this season, but he's been let go in advance.

Nonis has been a GM twice, once with the Toronto Maple Leafs and once with the Vancouver Canucks. Stephens reports he was let go in order to pursue opportunities elsewhere in the NHL. There is some speculation that he may be headed to Pittsburgh as an assistant GM as former Penguins executive Patrik Allvin was hired as GM of the Canucks.

Nonis' tenures with Toronto isn't exactly remembered fondly by fans. A complete list of trades and signings he made during his time with the Maple Leafs can be found here.
