The Philadelphia Flyers have been pushing hard to acquire Peyton Krebs from the Buffalo Sabres, and now it appears a deal may be close.

Sources around the league say the Flyers have been trying for quite some time to acquire Krebs from the Sabres, and they are still not letting up. Mattias Samuelsson is also another player the Flyers are interested in, as he was involved in some controversy when it was reported his father Kjell, was part of the Hockey Ops and player Development for Philly, however that appears to no longer be a factor anymore.
Peyton Krebs is still on the Sabres roster but his role has seemingly been filled with the offseason additions.

Does a move to the wing make sense? What is their plan for him moving forward?
The reason a deal still hasn't been made is because the Sabres have been asking for Joel Farabee in return, but the Flyers are not prepared to make a one-for-one trade like that, and would need more from Buffalo. The Sabres will likely need some time to put together a new trade proposal, but seeing as summer has just started, it might take a few weeks before we hear anything further, but a trade could happen before the start of the season.
