The Boston Bruins and Jeremy Swayman can't seem to come together on a contract, and now we know why as his latest demands have been revealed.

For months now, Boston Bruins fans have been waiting nervously for the contract discussions between the team and goaltender Jeremy Swayman to come to an end, but with the regular season a week away, it still hasn't happened. Yesterday, President Cam Neely publicly came out and said the team offered Swayman 8x8, but that has now been refuted by his agent.

Now, all of the details have officially been revealed by insider Frank Seravalli, who revealed that the Bruins top offer came in at 8x7.8M, which falls well short of Swayman's contract demands, that Seravalli reveals originally came in at well over $8M per season.

Reportedly, the 25-year old is looking for $8.5 million over eight years, and after starting at $6.5, the Bruins appear to be closing the gap. However, Swayman's camp don't appear too interested in budging on their number, and now it's left them in a stalemate that's going to see Swayman missing the start of the 2024/25 regular season.

Despite never playing more than 45 games in a season, Swayman wants to become one of the top-five highest paid goaltenders in the NHL, and given how much the Bruins have budged on their price, the team will be hoping that Swayman's camp will do the same down to 8x8. After his agency released a statement on Monday however, it doesn't appear there's an end in sight anytime soon, and with Swayman sitting firm at $8.5M over eight years, it will be tough to see them getting a deal done before the regular season.
