The Dallas Stars will head home for a game five with their series against the Oilers now tied at two, but they may have bigger issues regarding veteran Chris Tanev.

Heading into game four in Edmonton, the Dallas Stars had all the momentum in the world behind them, but things change quickly in the NHL, as they are now sweating on the health of Chris Tanev ahead of game five. During game four, the veteran defenseman blocked a shot, as he is one of the best in the NHL at putting his body on the line, but unfortunately, it resulted in him leaving the game.
After the game, Stars staff were optimistic about Tanev's chances of playing in game five back home, but now that's taken a major hit as their major trade deadline acquisition was seen shortly after in a walking boot.
It's unclear at this point whether this was simply precautionary or whether there's a real possibility he is injured and could miss the rest of this series, but for now, things certainly aren't looking good for Stars fans. With Tanev in the lineup, this is a Dallas team that are a dangerous, Stanley Cup contender, but without him we've seen them struggle, so fans and the organization will be keeping a close eye on the injury report ahead of a critical game five.
With game five set for Friday night, there's little time for Tanev to recover, so we will keep you updated on his status in what is the most important series of his career thus far.
