The Dallas Stars have built one of the most promising young cores in the NHL but with Jason Robertson and Jake Oettinger leading the way, many have overlooked 26-year old Roope Hintz.

A rising star

Over the past two years, Hintz has played in 153 games, tallying 74 goals and 147 points, becoming a key part of the Dallas Stars incredibly bright future.

With some other pieces on this team growing older, Hintz' role becomes even more crucial over the next few seasons, and if he can continue his improvement, he could become a 90+ point scorer in the coming years.

Military service

As we saw in the NBA with Lauri Markannen this off-season, Finland has mandatory military service, and while Hintz was meant to do so this summer, he has deferred it to next summer.

I haven't joined the army yet. It's still ahead. Next summer I will probably join the army.

This shouldn't effect his NHL career at all, and with such a bright future ahead, he'll be back on the ice ready to push the Stars back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs once again.
