According to a new report, significant tension is growing between the Chicago Blackhawks and the first overall pick Taylor Hall.

Taylor Hall, 33, nearly missed the whole 2023-24 NHL season due to a knee surgery that limited him to only 10 games last year. Fortunately, he's back on the lineup this season but is struggling to get back to his former rhythm.

In 17 games since the new season started, Hall scored six points, including two goals.

Yesterday, the Blackhawks' head coach Luke Richardson decided to healthy scratch him from the lineup. Chicago was in Vancouver to face the Canucks, and Hall had to watch his teammates lose 4-1.

To explain the decision to remove Hall from the lineup, Richardson stated that he simply wants Hall to get more reps in practice, but the Blackhawks' schedule hasn't allowed it to happen yet.

In the coach's own words:

"Unfortunately, the schedule hasn't allowed a lot of practice time for him, so that's the plan. We just want to get him a little bit more work. It's hard to do that in games without getting too frustrated, so that's our approach. He's not happy sitting out."

"I know the player disagrees, but sometimes that happens."

With Hall's contract set to expire at the end of the current season, we wonder if the team will decide to trade him before the deadline. Despite his struggles, contending teams could be ready to pay a hefty price to acquire the veteran.

Meanwhile, fans are eager to see if Hall will be back in the lineup for the Blackhawks' next game, on Tuesday, against the Anaheim Ducks.
