Penguins Rumoured to Be Putting Rakell On the Trade Block
The Pittsburgh Penguins are gearing up for one last cup run in the Crosby-Malkin era, and for that reason, they are in a win-now mentality. This means that they are likely looking at optimizing their roster to find the best pieces that fit their playstyle.
Rickard Rakell is one player whom the Penguins could look to move given his $5 million cap hit and his slow start. Rakell is a skilled forward who has multiple 30-goal seasons, however, the Penguins are likely looking to add a net-front presence who also has some grit.
Rackell's Slow Start Makes Him a Prime Trade Candidate
Rackell is off to a slow start to the year, having yet to score in his 12 games played and only recording 3 assists. With the Penguins looking at all options to make the best roster possible, Rackell is a player who could have a good return in the short term.
