The Philadelphia Flyers' controversial coach, John Tortorella, made another shocking decision.
Tortorella Makes a Surprising Choice for the Team's Captaincy
This season, there will be no captain in Philadelphia, as Tortorella confirmed. Not only that, there's only going to be one alternate captain: Scott Laughton, who will wear the "A" for the second straight season.
By doing that, Tortorella hopes to see the leaders reveal themselves, not because he gives them a letter.
Flyers Players Comment on Tortorella's Unexpected Decision
Yesterday, Laughton spoke to the media about the new mindset in Philadelphia's changed locker room. Many veterans left the team, but Daniel Briere brilliantly replaced them with Garnet Hathaway and Marc Staal. Also, young players managed to earn a spot in the training camps, such as Bobby Brink, who played 11 NHL games, and Emil Andrae, who should make his debut soon.
