In their first game of the season, the Blue Jackets were left holding their breath for the health of their star defenseman Zach Werenski.

After a major injury left him sidelined almost all season last year, he was looking forward to come back and play 82 games.

However, he had to leave the ice after a knee-on-knee collision with Garnet Hathaway.

"Zach Werenski leaves the game following a scary knee-on-knee collision with Garnet Hathaway.

Hathaway was given a 2-minute minor for kneeing on the play."
