In major news, this NHL insider just revealed that we may know Claude Giroux's next team, and it would make many fans really happy if it came true.
Giroux Potentially Heading Back to Philadelphia At Deadline
Claude Giroux has had a great season thus far for the Ottawa Senators, scoring 42 points in 47 games played thus far with 15 goals. The Senators, though, are likely looking to sell at the deadline, as they continue their rebuild under new coaching.
Claude Giroux is one name that has come up as a potential asset to dump. According to Kevin Weekes, there is a potential scenario where Giroux heads back to where his career started and where he spent the vast majority of his NHL time, in Philadelphia.
Giroux Could be Difficult to Move Due To Salary Constraints
Giroux would definitely be difficult to move for the Senators, as he has a $6.5 million AAV against the cap, which is no small salary to work around. However, if his production continues, he is worth that salary, which is why he would be a nice addition to the Flyers.
He also has a No Move Clause, however, it would likely be easy to ask Giroux to waive that in order to return to Philadelphia. We would have to see how much the Flyers are willing to give up in order to bring Giroux back to Philly.
