Today a new report has confirmed that a long-time former NHLer will face legal repercussions in the coming months. The player has been charged with a major crime in his home country.

700-Game NHL Veteran Officially Charged For Serious Crime

A report coming out of Finland has confirmed that former NHL player Janne Niinimaa has been found guilty of fraud in Finland. According to reports Niinimaa failed to pay his taxes for an extended period.

"He was sentenced to four months of suspended prison, which means he can stay out of jail as long as he doesn't break any of the conditions of his probation." - Via TVA Sports

Niinimaa is best known for his time with the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL. He will now have to work to rebuild his tarnished reputation after this latest setback.
