Ryan Reaves and Arber Xhekaj took the renewal of the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs rivalry to another level. They ended up in a toe to toe fight that ended in an Arber Xhekaj win. Now Reaves has addressed the fight and his loss to Xhekaj.
First Reaves has said he is looking forward to a rematch against Xhekaj.
Next Reaves takes offense to the way that Xhekaj went about wanting to fight. He calls out the young enforcer and reminds him how things are supposed to be done.
Reaves has never been one to run from a fight but did not appreciate being jumped by Xhekaj. Next time a simple request will do the trick according to Reaves. He also gave some insight into an off ice impact he has had on the Maple Leafs.
Ryan Reaves during this same interview revealed he is now in charge of the locker room music.
Reaves revealed he has taken over all things music for the Toronto Maple Leafs. This includes dressing room music as well as an unexpected influence on the goal song.
While Reaves isn't known for scoring goals he is known as a chemistry guy who can help bring a locker room together. This already seems to be taking place as Reaves has put himself squarely in the middle of several important team roles.
As the season goes on Ryan Reaves will get his chance at revenge against Xhekaj. More importantly, Reaves will have a fantastic opportunity to keep changing and improving the team culture. This could be extremely impactful in helping change the result when games truly count in the playoffs.
