The NHL deputy commissioner has addressed the 2018 WJC scandal.

Daly Speaks On The Scandal

We expect the members of Team Canada involved in the 2018 WJC scandal to be announced soon but it appears that previous reports on when we may see the names may not be true.

Katie Strang of The Athletic recently was in communication with NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly and relayed this information.

"In response to the question of whether the NHL will announce a resolution of the investigation into the WJC 2018 before the opening of NHL training camps, the NHL's Deputy Commissioner, Bill Daly, responded by email that he did not have 'any specific timetable to share at this time' " - Katie Strang

What We Know So Far

The NHL was reportedly ready to suspend five players involved in the 2018 incident yet has not done so.

Insider Frank Seravalli said he felt that a major announcement was imminent over a month ago and there has yet to be word from the NHL.

Insider Andy Strickland said that there are some major names involved with the scandal and they would be suspended.

Yesterday it was revealed that at least one of the players who previously said they had nothing to do with the scandal was involved.

More news to come.
