The Philadelphia Flyers currently sit dead last in the Metropolitan division with a record of 15-24-8 through 47 games. With the team not going to make the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs, it's expected that they will begin to at least listen to trade offers on some of their pending unrestricted free agents.

One of their players that has garnered attention around the league in the last few weeks is captain Claude Giroux. The Hearst (Ontario) native will become an unrestricted free agent this summer and instead of letting him walk for free, general manager Chuck Fletcher is likely wanting to gain some assets in return for the 34-year-old. Fletcher has said that it is up to Giroux, who has a no-movement clause, if he wants to be dealt.

According to Adrian Dater of Colorado Hockey Now, Giroux has spoken to Fletcher to tell him that his desination of choice ahead of March 21st's deadline is the Avalanche. He added that Minnesota and St. Louis could be possibilities if a trade doesn't happen between the Flyers and Avalanche.

"I'm told that Claude Giroux has made it known to Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher that Colorado is where he wants to go. If somehow that doesn't work out, Minnesota or St. Louis would be acceptable alternatives," Dater said in a tweet.

In 44 games this season, Giroux has 36 points (15 G, 21 A), 16 penalty minutes and is a minus-7.
