The National Hockey League will be bringing back the reverse retro jersey program next season according to Icethetics and it's being reported that teams will wear them in November and December.

In November 2020, the NHL and Adidas teamed up for a new jersey line called "reverse retro" that featured all 31 teams at the time. The jerseys were retro, but with a twist. Some teams opted to go with a retro jersey, with reversed colours, while others went with retro logos on a different retro-style jersey (example: Los Angeles Kings).

Details surrounding next year's jerseys have started to emerge with Montreal's and the Islanders' being the first to have information about theirs leak.

According to the YouTube channel, Post2Post, the Montreal Canadiens' 2022-23 reverse retro jersey will tie in the city's baseball past and be Expos themed.

"NEWS: I can't wait until a video to share this one, it needs out now. I have confirmed with a concrete source that the Montreal Canadiens next Reverse Retro jersey is going to be Expos (former MLB team) themed. Take it to the bank. #GoHabsGo"

As for the Islanders, theirs is expected to feature the famous "Fisherman" logo worn on jerseys from 1995-1998.

"NEWS: The New York Islanders next Reverse Retro jersey WILL be the FISHERMAN. Confirmed with concrete source. I don't know the specific color scheme, or if it will be a white(away) or dark(home), but it IS happening 100%. #NHL #Isles #ReverseRetro #Adidas"

We should know more about the 2022-23 reverse retro jerseys at some point before the start of the season, likely in September or early October.
