A statement released to Russian media by the KHL's Yaroslavl Lokomotiv says Reid Boucher is no longer in Russia after his sentencing on a sexual assault charge of four years' probation. However, his fate with the team remains unclear. Here's what the team said in a media release:

"The large-scale strategy that has been at the heart of the activities of the Lokomotiv hockey club for many years dictates the obligatory observance and development in players of any age and status - from youth schools to the main team - of the correct moral and general civic values. That is why the 'Reid Boucher Case' requires us to take a comprehensive, detailed examination and analysis of what happened. At the time of the proceedings, the hockey player is on vacation at his own expense. He is currently in the United States. At the same time, HC Lokomotiv and the KHL are jointly studying all the nuances of the Reid Boucher case. Time is also needed for the club and the league to receive official documents from the American court."

The KHL is currently on a break for the Olympics. However, it was started earlier than planned due to a number of outbreaks of COVID-19 among teams. It is not yet known if or when the team will resume the 2021-22 season.

Boucher joined Lokomotiv this season after spending the last with Omsk Avangard. Before that, he played 133 games in the NHL with the New Jersey Devils, Nashville Predators, and Vancouver Canucks, as well as playing several games in the AHL. On Monday, he was sentenced to four months probations and a suspended sentence of one year in jail, provided he successfully completes the probation, for the sexual assault of his 12-year-old billet sister in Michigan back in 2011. Boucher was 17 at the time.
