The Edmonton Oilers announced on Friday afternoon that they've placed depth forward Colton Sceviour on waivers. This move is likely to make room for Evander Kane on the active roster.

Sceviour, 32, was signed by the Oilers just before the 2021-22 season after a successful PTO. In 30 games this season, the Red Deer, Alberta native has five points (two goals, three assists), twenty-six penalty minutes and is a minus-three.

During Friday's introductory press conference, Evander Kane and general manager Ken Holland confirmed that the 30-year-old will be in the lineup when the Oilers head to Montreal to take on the Canadiens tomorrow night at 7pm ET.

In other Oilers news, the team announced that defenceman William Lagesson has been assigned to their taxi squad.
