On Friday, what was clearly a fake roster for Canadian Men's Hockey Team for the upcoming Winter Games in February started making its rounds on the internet. The list, which some people thought was real, mixed young up-and-comers like Owen Power and Connor Bedard with names of retired veterans such as Kevin Bieksa, Dany Heatley, Kris Versteeg, and Marc Methot. Methot, who hasn't played in the NHL since the 2018-19 season, decided to have some fun with it.

"What an absolute honor it is, for me and my family, to have the opportunity to represent my country in Beijing. You're all very blessed to have the opportunity to watch me play again," said Methot on Twitter.

He went on to say he's been training for the Games in some very cold temperatures without clothing of any kind.

"Part of my training for the Beijing Olympics is all the on ice work," said Methot. "Very grueling. To prepare my body, I've been doing lots of skate tests on the Outdoor rink wearing zero clothing in -25 degree weather. Be sure to thank me when I bring home the gold."

I hope someday I might be able to get that mental picture out of my head. For anyone who missed it, the full fake roster is included below.
