Russian Olympic Committee releases long list for 2022 Winter Games

The Men's hockey tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics is set to get underway in just over three weeks in Beijing, China. A couple of nations have already released their final rosters, which have to be submitted to the IIHF and IOC in the coming days.

On Saturday, the long list for the Russian Olympic Committee came out and it has a few recognizable names including Yaroslav Askarov, Shakir Mukhamadullin, Nikita Gusev, Vadim Shipachev, and Mikhail Grigorenko.

Forwards (19): Sergey Andronov, Mikhail Grigorenko, Pavel Karnaukhov, Sergey Plotnikov, Anton Slepyshev (all - CSKA Moscow), Anton Burdasov, Nikita Gusev, Andrey Kuzmenko, Kirill Marchenko (all - SKA St. Petersburg), Stanislav Galiev, Vadim Shipachev (both - Dynamo Moscow) , Artem Galimov, Dmitry Voronkov (both Ak Bars Kazan), Arseniy Gritsyuk, Kirill Semenov (both Avangard Omsk), Alexander Kadeikin (Salavat Yulaev), Artur Kayumov (Lokomotiv Yaroslavl), Vladimir Tkachev (Traktor Chelyabinsk), Andrey Chibisov (Metallurg Magnitogorsk).

Defenders (12): Dmitry Vishnevsky, Alexander Nikishin (both Spartak Moscow), Vyacheslav Voinov (Dynamo Moscow), Alexander Yelesin (Lokomotiv Yaroslavl), Artem Minulin, Yegor Yakovlev (both Metallurg Magnitogorsk), Shakir Mukhamadullin (Salavat Yulaev), Daniil Pylenkov (SKA St. Petersburg), Nikita Nesterov (CSKA Moscow), Sergey Telegin (Traktor Chelyabinsk), Semyon Chistyakov, Damir Sharipzyanov (both - Avangard Omsk).

Goalkeepers (5): Yaroslav Askarov, Alexander Samonov (both SKA St. Peterburg), Timur Bilyalov (Ak Bars Kazan), Ivan Fedotov (CSKA Moscow), Dmitry Shugaev (Severstal Cherepovets).

The Russian Olympic Committee will open up their Beijing 2022 tournament schedule on Wednesday, February 9th against Switzerland.
