Islanders forward Ross Johnston to have a hearing with NHL DoPS (w/video)

The NHL's Department of Player Safety announced that New York Islanders forward Ross Johnston will have a hearing on Friday for an illegal check to the head of New Jersey Devils forward A.J. Greer.

The incident occurred just over three minutes into the first period in Thursday night's game. Greer is also the boards in his own zone and just as he dumps the puck out, Johnston comes in and makes contact with his head. Johnston received a two-minute minor for an illegal check to the head on the play.

Johnston, 27, hasn't been suspended before in the NHL. In nine games this season for the Islanders, the Charlottetown, PEI native has two assists, four penalty minutes and has an even rating.
