Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau tells NHL Network which player he's most impressed by

During an interview on NHL Network, Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau was asked which player he's been most impressed with thus far, and his answer may surprise some people.

"You know what, it's Tyler Myers, he's my guy in that situation. It's really funny, I mean through necessity three of these six games we've been down to five defencemen early in the game, so he's played an exceptional amount of hockey," Boudreau said.

He added, "But I mean, It's funny, I was talking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name (Myers) and saying he's a big guy and big guys need big minutes to play and he's playing great for you. I agreed with him and it just donned on me that I've had conversations with other players that are big players. When they sit for a while, they get cold and big guys need to play and Tyler's played a lot, he's been exceptional for us so far."

Vancouver has been dominating since the hiring of Boudreau as head coach, winning six games in a row before COVID-19 caused their games last weekend to be postponed, ultimately leading to a extended holiday break for all teams.

Myers has certainly thrived under Boudreau, recording three assists in those six games, while averaging 25:14 time on ice and hitting a season-high 29:29 TOI on December 14th vs Columbus.

Vancouver's next scheduled game is Monday, December 27th against the Seattle Kraken.
