Despite the fact that NHLers won't be at the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, there will be many players with NHL experience that will be participating.

Let's take a look at some of the former NHLers that we may see on the ice representing their nation in about seven weeks.

Canada: Jason Demers (AK Bars Kazan - KHL), Patrick Marleau (Free agent).
Czech: David Krejci (HC Olomouc - Czech Extraliga), Tomas Plekanec (Rytíři Kladno - Czech Extraliga).
Denmark: Frans Nielsen (Eisbären Berlin - DEL), Mikkel Bodker (HC Lugano - NL).
Finland: Markus Granlund (Salavat Yulaev Ufa - KHL), Tuukka Rask (Free agent).
Russian Olympic Committee: Ilya Kovalchuk (Free agent), Pavel Datsyuk (Free agent).
Switzerland: Raphael Diaz (HC Fribourg-Gottéron - NL).
USA: Bobby Ryan (Bern Selects - Spengler Cup).

Two other veteran names that are unlikely to play, but would be interesting to keep an eye on are retired goaltender Ryan Miller and NHL legend Jaromir Jagr.

Miller, 41, retired following the conclusion of the 2020-21 NHL season. He was hired to be an assistant coach for the United States at the 2022 Olympics, but with how thin the pool is for American-born goaltenders in Europe, could Miller strap on the pads? It's unlikely, but you never know.

As for Jaromir Jagr, he retired from international competition following the 2015 IIHF World Hockey Championship. But the 49-year-old is having a fairly good season with Rytíři Kladno in the Czech Extraliga, where he has 17 points (7 G, 10 A) in 27 games. His participation, much like Miller's, is unlikely, but his name certainly one to watch when Olympic rosters are released next month.
