Finland, Sweden name their final rosters for 2022 World Juniors

Finland and Sweden have named their final rosters with just over two weeks to go until the World Juniors kick-off in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta.

For the Finns, they'll have nine returning players, one in goal, four on the blue line and four up front. Joel Blomqvist (G), Topi Niemela (D), Kasper Puutio (D), Ruben Rafkin (D), Eemil Viro (D), Samuel Helenius (F), Roni Hirvonen (F), Brad Lambert (F), and Kasper Simontaival (F).

Finland's roster includes New York Islanders second round pick in 2021, Aatu Raty, who participated at the 2020 World Juniors in the Czech Republic, but missed last year's tournament due to a poor start to his season. Projected top-15 pick Joakim Kemell is also among the names on Finland's roster.

They'll be in Group A and will face Germany (December 26th), Austria (December 27th), Czech Republic (December 29th) and Canada (December 31st).

As for Sweden, they'll have six returning players from last year's team that finished in fifth place. Those players are: Calle Clang (G), Jesper Wallstedt (G), Emil Andrae (D), Theodor Niederbach (F), Zion Nybeck (F), and Oskar Olausson (F).

Their roster will also include 2021 sixth overall pick Simon Edvinsson, 2021 seventh overall pick William Eklund, 2021 fourteenth overall pick Isak Rosen, and 2021 twenty-first overall pick Fabian Lysell.

Sweden is in Group A and will take on Russia (December 26th), Slovakia (December 27th), the United States (December 29th), and Switzerland (December 31st).
