Less than 24 hours after the Vancouver Canucks fired head coach Travis Green and GM Jim Benning, so too have the Philadelphia Flyers decided to make a coaching change.

According to a report from Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli on Monday morning, the Flyers have fired head coach Alain Vigneault after a disappointing first quarter of the season.

The Flyers are 8-10-4 through the team's first 22 games of the 2021-22 season and after making changes to the top six, an overhaul on the blueline and bringing in Martin Jones to back up youngster Carter Hart, GM Chuck Fletcher has elected to move on from Vigneault, who has been with the team since the 2019-20 season.

In addition to Vigneault's firing, Michel Therrien has also been let go. Mike Yeo will take over as interim head coach.
