It seems Jesse Puljujarvi of the Edmonton Oilers is looking to possibly cash in on a recently acquired nickname. As you may recall, back on September 30th, Puljujarvi posted a photo of himself and his dog on a walk at Elk Island National Park. There just happened to be a wild bison very close by.

At that point, teammates started referring to Puljujarvi as "Bison King". He even decided to dress up as a bison for Halloween.

Now, it's been revealed that Puljujarvi has filed to trademark the nickname with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for the purposes of "athletic apparel, namely shirts, pants, jackets, footwear, hats and caps, [and] athletic uniforms."

I have no doubt that Puljujarvi would sell a ton of "Bison King" t-shirts if that's the route he decides to take. Look for them to hit the market once the trademark is officially in place.
