Not many people are trying to defend Brendan Lemieux of the LA Kings right now after the whole biting incident on Saturday involving Brady Tkachuk of the Ottawa Senators. Tkachuk claims Lemieux bit him while the two were involved in a scrum. Lemieux will have an in-person hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Tuesday. Perhaps the only person defending Lemieux at the moment is teammate and goaltender Jonathan Quick.

"I have my own opinion about what happened, or did not happen last night, and what I can tell you is that any comments that were made about [Lemieux] were garbage," Quick said on Sunday. «He's a valuable player who sticks up for his teammates. We all support him and I'd rather have him on my team over that kid any day of the week."

Following the incident, Tkachuk called Lemieux pretty much everything he could think of, including a bad player, bad teammate, a joke, and a brick head. Lemieux has yet to sat anything publicly on the incident. Biting, for obvious reasons, is a huge no-no in the NHL, but it sounds as though Quick doesn't believe it happened at all. It will be up to DoPS to determine what really happened and whether Lemieux should face the music for it.
