It would appear as though Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen has been cleared by the team's medical staff to return to action, and is expected to get the nod on Wednesday against the Washington Capitals.

Allen had missed the team's previous five games after being absolutely steamrolled by Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin on November 13th. You can see the hit below.

Allen had stated that he felt alright after the hit, but fortunately for him, a concussion spotter deemed it necessary to remove him from the game to be assessed for a concussion.

TSN's John Lu has reported, via Jake Allen's media availability on Tuesday, that the Habs netminder is grateful that the league has implemented the use of concussion spotters and strict concussion protocol to help protect its players.
