The more information that trickles in regarding Anaheim Ducks GM Bob Murray and the reason he was placed on administrative leave, the more hostile the picture that is being painted. Anaheim announced Tuesday night that Murray, who is also the team's Executive Vice-President, would be away from the Ducks for the foreseeable future pending the results of an investigation into "inappropriate professional behavior." While the team left it at that, Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli added some info later in the night.

"Working for Bob Murray was pure daily mental warfare," one source told Seravalli. "The abuse was endless. Crazy text messages to players and staff berating them for their performance and threats of job security happened with regularity. These weren't one-time slip-ups or mistakes. These were regular explosions and eruptions."

ESPN' Greg Wyshynski has since added more to that after saying no one seemed surprised that Murray is under investigation.

"Texts from long-time NHL team exec about Ducks GM Bob Murray: His managerial style has always been 'negativity' and adds, colorfully, 'he's an asshole and got caught',"

ESPN's Emily Kaplan added even more.

"Doesn't sound like one singular incident that led the Ducks to put their GM on administrative leave, but rather his behavior towards staffers & what one source described as an 'abusive culture'," she said.

"A source says all of the initial complaints involve verbal abuse."

There's also this statement from Ryan Whitney, who spent parts of two seasons with the Ducks.

If you're wondering if Murray's investigation is in any way related to the situation and fallout with the Chicago Blackhawks, it sounds like you're absolutely right.

"The NHL sent a memo after Blackhawks case and basically told teams: if you know of any abuse, you must report it," said Kaplan. "Sounds like that led some in Ducks organization to question Bob Murray's behavior. Some allegations may be years old, but people feel more empowered to speak up now."

There's no doubt pretty much all of us has had awful bosses at some point in our lives. However, the accusations against Murray, if true, paint a picture of tyrant who was stepping over boundaries time after time. According to Kaplan, there is no timeline on the independent investigation and the firm conducting it will take all the time it needs to get the facts straight.
