Some surprising news came out in the hockey world today, as the Anaheim Ducks announced that they placed general manager Bob Murray on administrative leave.

It was unknown at the time what had happened which led to this decision, however Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff helped explain the situation Tuesday evening. According to sources of Seravalli's, Murray is currently under investigation for allegations of creating a toxic workplace environment by way of his repeated verbal abuse and harassment of Ducks players, coaches and personnel, plus his intimidation tactics and temper tantrums that fostered a culture of fear throughout the organization.

"Working for Bob Murray was pure daily mental warfare," one source told Seravalli. "The abuse was endless. Crazy text messages to players and staff berating them for their performance and threats of job security happened with regularity. These weren't one-time slip-ups or mistakes. These were regular explosions and eruptions."

Another source had a very similar tale to tell when it came to the 66-year-old, who has been the team's general manager since 2008.

" There's not just one skeleton in the closet here with 'Murph'," the second source explained."The list of people who have felt his wrath first-hand over the years is long."

While they haven't announced anything yet, it wouldn't be surprising to see Murray relieved of his duties in the near future. These allegations themselves are troublesome, and the fact that he has done quite a poor job with this team in recent years certainly doesn't help his situation.
