Leo Komarov has seemingly had enough of sitting on the sidelines. According to a report out of Russia, the forward, who is in the final year of a four-year contract with an annual cap hit of $3 million, is preparing to leave the New York Islanders and sign with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL.

The report from Championat states SKA will have to move a player in order to make room for Komarov and it looks like that will be accomplished by sending Canadian Linden Vey to Barys.

Komarov has played just one game with the Islanders this season. He is technically on the roster of the Bridgeport Islanders of the AHL, but he doesn't play there either. He's passed through waivers several times over the past couple of seasons with no team willing to take him on.

Komarov has played in the KHL before, spending four seasons with Moscow Dynamo. The 34-year-old has played a total of 491 regular season games in the NHL, scoring 63 goals and 170 points. Watch for him to be placed on unconditional waivers in the near future for the purposes of terminating the rest of his contract.
