Sometimes, it's difficult not to wonder where all the class has gone in society. Earlier this week, a story came to light about hockey fans in Pennsylvania chanting terrible things at a female goaltender during a high school game. The chants, which were not made public at the time, resulted in a ban of all students from Armstrong High School attending future games until further notice. Video has now surfaced of those chants and we can see why people are outraged. It is posted at the bottom of this story. Fair warning: this video is not safe for work or any public setting really.

It's believed the chanting was limited to 50 or 60 students sitting in the stands. Perhaps the most disturbing thing about this situation is no one did anything. Not the parents or school staff in the stands, nor the officials on the ice.

The player and her family did not want to comment on the situation. The young woman plays for the Mars High School Hockey Club. It has been reported that the goalie was in tears after the second period. Mars has played five games this season and the female netminder has been the starter for all five games.
