The Toronto Maple Leafs appear to have come up with at least a temporary solution after its ECHL affiliate, the Newfoundland Growlers, were told they could no longer play games at their home arena in St. John's, or even have access to the facility. The City of St. John's, which owns the stadium formerly known as Mile One (now Mary Brown's Centre), said in a release that Growlers games had been suspended until further notice pending the outcome of a "workplace investigation."

"In a statement, Maple Leafs Assistant GM Laurence Gilman says the organization will look to host the Growlers temporarily at Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto (where the AHL Marlies play) until a resolution can be found," said CBC's Lukas Wall on Twitter.

St. John's said its investigation deals with a report that staff of Deacon Sports & Entertainment Limited (DSE, the parent company of the Growlers) were allegedly involved in disrespectful workplace conduct with employees of SJSEL, the corporation that runs the arena.

"We will not provide details of the complaints. We ask the public to please be respectful of the privacy of the individuals involved," said SJSEL in a release.

The Growlers were set to play their first home game of the season on November 5th after starting 2021-22 with a four game road trip.
