The Montreal Canadiens announced on Monday morning that they've agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract worth $2.275 million with undrafted defenceman Arber Xhekaj. The first two years of the deal will see Xhekaj make $750,000, while he'll earn $775,000 in the final year.

It's been a incredible month for the Hamilton, Ontario native. He was first invited to the Canadiens' development camp early in September, and then performed well enough to earn an invite to their main camp, which began on September 15th. General Manager Marc Bergevin must've have liked what he saw in the 20-year-old in order to sign him to his ELC.

Xhekaj spent the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kitchener Rangers. In 110 regular season games with the Rangers, Xhekaj tallied 20 points (8 G, 12 A), 127 penalty minutes, and is a -2.

Following the signing, the Canadiens announced that Xhekaj will be returning to the Kitchener Rangers for the 2021-22 season.
